Carrier President's Award

Spotlight on Seider Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.

Carrier is proud to present the 2008 President's Award to Seider Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. This is their second year in a row winning this prestigious award. Through their professionalism and quality-driven approach to all aspects of their business Seider Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. has shown a commitment to growth—of their own company as well as others'. Seider Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. is in the business of providing preventive maintenance, repairs, installations and service for residential and some light commercial HVAC systems. Originally founded in 1912 by Arthur Seider, with William Pergande as Pergande & Seider Hardware, located at 2301 West Hopkins Street in Milwaukee, Arthur purchased Pergande's share of the business and changed its name to Seider Hardware. During the depression and shortly thereafter, there was not enough revenue to pay additional staff. In order to keep the business going during this devastating period in our nation's history, two of Arthur's four children, Hilbert and Harold, were recruited as employees. The name changed to Seider Heating & Hardware after the business began offering residential heating, appliances, carpet installation as well as sheet metal and gutter work.

The business flourished and grew to such a point that the hardware line was eliminated and the company was streamlined to concentrate its business strictly on residential heating and air conditioning. In 1965, Seider Heating & Air Conditioning was incorporated. In 1975, the business purchased land and built its present location at 8232 North Teutonia Avenue. Today 3 generations later, Bryan Seider (son of the late Harold Seider) serves as vice president and Mark Seider (son of the late Hilbert Seider) as president.

In 1988, Seider Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. purchased F.X. Jacoby in Waukesha and 5 years later changed the name to Envira-tech, Inc. Currently Envira-tech employs approximately 50 technicians, installers, office personnel and sales staff and recently moved into a new building at N22 W22967 Nancy Ct in Waukesha. At the new building, the residential business (service and sales) is performed under the Seider Heating namesake (also known as Seider "west") and the commercial installation is performed under the Envira-tech moniker. Envira-tech has been successful in obtaining contracts with several low-income agencies to provide installation services to persons less fortunate needing replacement heat.
